I love making words out of my observations and experiences of life.... although I don't get enough time... here are some of my experiences and observations of life...
My dad is perfect
I know you are with me,
Always guiding me.
When I feel sad,
You come and hug me.
When I am disturbed,
You come and talk to me.
When I feel lost,
You hold my hand and show me the right path.
I long for your physical presence,
And you are there in my dreams.
You are the perfect dad
Guiding me even after your death!
Always guiding me.
When I feel sad,
You come and hug me.
When I am disturbed,
You come and talk to me.
When I feel lost,
You hold my hand and show me the right path.
I long for your physical presence,
And you are there in my dreams.

Mothers Day
Mothers can be strange at times
But they are always there for you
Mothers can be very strict at times
But they are always in support of you
Mothers can be great detectives at times
But they are always there to protect you
Mothers can be philosophical at times
But they have the best advice for you
They may be all these,
But
They are the only ones who will
Wait for you to have food before they eat.
They are the only ones who will
Be genuinely happy for even your smallest success.
They are the only ones who will
Cry when you get hurt.
Mothers are the treasure that God gives us because God cannot be everywhere.
Mother’s day is only an excuse to tell my mom how much I value having her in my life.
But they are always there for you

My strength .. My dad
My hand was in his hand
His hands were trembling
It felt weak and shaky
I held them, cautiously
We crossed the road.
I remembered the time
When those hands were sturdy
and strong,
A time when I depended
On those hands to cross the road.
His hands held me as a baby.
He held my hands,
As I took my first step.
He held my hand on
My way to school.
He was with me
During my divorce proceedings,
He is my inspiration
To be a father to my daughter,
He supported me
Stood by me in all my decisions
Throughout my life..always.
Life turns now,
They depend on me,
I carefully support him, my father
My support system.
Happy FATHER'S Day... Daddy

I miss you..my doll
I miss you…
It seems I have been missing you a little too much these days…
I miss you so much that my heart skips beating for a few seconds and I want to be near you.
Your irritated face, when I wake you up in the morning… and then the subdued look when I give you the cup of tea.
Arguments we have over small things now and then.
The look of satisfaction on your face when I cook something nice... And then sometimes you say..” Mom, you just don’t know how to cook”
The way you hold on to me when we walk, and your never-ending blabberings.
The long talks we have in the bed, not allowing me to sleep, now and then you keep waking me, “Motu, listen”.
The best one is that anxious look on your face when you stand in front of your overflowing wardrobe and say “Mom, I don’t have anything to wear!”

A long wait..
I am still waiting
For that beam of light
That will enlighten my life…
For that rain drop
That will drench me completely…
For that one smile
That will skip my heartbeat…
For that special lookT
hat will caress my soul….
For those words
That will make me alive….
I am still waiting,
To live life, completely….

WHY NO GIRLS? SAVE THE GIRL CHILD
In a land which we refer as “Bharat mata”
Where we worship rivers as goddesses
Why is female infanticide a major issue?
Today girls compete with boys in every field,
Still people want a son rather than a daughter,
Why I don’t understand!
Why no girls? I don’t understand
People pray for a boy and not for a girl
Blessings of the elders are always for the male
And not for the female!
You need to have a boy they say
Why? Why? I don’t understand!
Your mother looks after you with love and care
Your sister is a true friend in your growing years
But when it comes to a daughter
Why do you say no?
Why? Why? I don’t understand!
In want of wealth you pray to goddess Lakshmi
In want of courage you pray to goddess Durga
In want of education you pray to goddess Saraswati
Then why don’t you accept a goddess in your own family?
Why? Why? I don’t understand!
Daughters you see can change your life
Like only a daughter can!
Then, why do you crush them before they are born?
Why? Why? I don’t understand.
I was inspired to write this from the idea given by one of my colleague Mrs Sarika Dogra.

I HAVE LOST A PART OF ME...
How can I forget?
Those long talks on lazy Sundays, and
Those guffaws at midnight disturbing the neighbours,
I still remember,
Cooking for all of you and,
At times just watching you all cook,
How can I forget?
Watching those silly serials together, and
Commenting on the hopeless new movies on cable.
I still remember,
Singing aloud without any reason,
And simply dancing ourselves tired.
I now miss,
All the crazy things we did together, and
Having somebody to listen to my blabbering’s
How can I forget?
For I feel,
As though a part of me is lost without you all!
Dedicated to my Arti roommates: Khushboo Naidu, Smitha Bharat, Barkha Bambhani, Prathibha Joshi and Rinki Suryavanshi

MOUNTAIN BECKONING
Recently I had been to Vythiri in Wayanad Kerala during the summer break. The mountains and the scenic beauty was simply enchanting and mesmerising...
The Wayanad Mountains
With lush green terrains;
Tall trees with wide leafy spreads
Fluffy clouds racing to kiss the peaks;
The grey roads serpentine among the greens
Competing to reach the racing clouds;
Branches of trees spreading and extending
To reach across the road forming archways;
The sun peeking through the leaves
Those gaps in the shady archways;
Beams of light emerging through
Touching the lush greens below;
Shades of green everywhere
Creepers forming carpets;
Greens sliding down the slopes
With designs of pink, blue and violet flowers;
The tea estates, the coffee plantations;
The caves, lakes and the waterfalls;
The elephants, monkeys and the beautiful birds..
Mountains beckon you…
You can’t have enough of it!
